NEWS from WILMINGTON MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY

Students at Wilmington Middle School (WMS) are encouraged to read all the time, but there are planned programs and activities to celebrate reading, especially during Teen Read Week (Oct. 14 – 17), sponsored by the American Library Association: Turn  Dreams into Reality @ your library.

Students at WMS will celebrate Teen Read Week with special programs, guest speakers, scary stories, book talks, and a book fair.  Starting the week off on Tuesday, Red Ribbon Day guest speaker, Special Agent Owen Putman of the Drug Enforcement Agency, will present the importance of being drug-free.  On Wednesday, Cindy Brncich from Joliet Junior College will talk to the students about future career possibilities.  Thursday, students will be entertained as WMS Librarian, Christine Reigh, and WHS Librarian, Karen Turner conduct book talks.  Friday will conclude Teen Read Week when Mrs. Reigh will present scary stories and urban legends.
